Birmingham boss Bruce admits new contract talks deadlocked

After seeing his side beaten 2-1 at Blackburn, Birmingham boss Steve Bruce revealed talks on a new contract had stalled and was now dependent on the new Consortium taking over the club.

Bruce indicated his time at Birmingham was now limited as should the new owners take over there was every chance they would want to bring in their own people.

"It's not looking good at the moment; it's looking negative.

"I've got about 19 months to run and I'll see when the new people takeover what plans they have got but I don't think at the moment there is any talk of a further contract.

"I haven't told anybody in the dressing room as I only found out from Mr Sullivan on Friday night that the vibes coming back from the Chinese consortium where negative, so there you go.

"I agreed a new contract with Mr Sullivan and the board five months ago but with the new people this has been blocked.

"I have to accept the new owners will have there own ideas and we'll have to wait until they take over but it doesn't look that rosy that's for sure.

"I'm not working any notice but I'll continue to my best after six years here as player and manager but any new boss tends to come in and sweep clean."
