Australia Olympic defeat means all down to final game

Socceroo coach Graham Arnold made no apologies for the performance and acknowledged all now depends on winning their final group game.

"I'm thrilled with the effort of my players against one of the best sides in the world.

"We really made things very difficult for them and even had our own chances to score. However, even if we'd drawn this one, we'd still have had to win our final group game, so this doesn't changes things much."

Skipper Mark Milligan was proud of the team's display.

"When we got back to the dressing rooms we gave each other a pat on the back as we'd given everything out on the pitch.

"We know how close we came to drawing this one, and we're still alive in the tournament. That said, we'll need to improve and win our next game to go through."
