Villa's Academy Director Bryan Jones told avfc.co.uk: "For Shane to get an Under-21 call up for the Republic of Ireland at the tender age of 18 is a great achievement.
"He ended the season well after a spell out through injury and I'm sure he'll do himself and the club proud out in Malaysia."
