Just days after winning the club's Young Player of the Year award, McGowan put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with the Jambos.

Hearts directors were happy to rip up the defender's previous five-year deal, which still had over two years to run, and hand the Adelaide youngster a new agreement.

Coach Stephen Frail is expected to hand McGowan a first team debut before season's end.
