The Sun says Arnesen faces the sack from Chelsea before Christmas.

And the Blues academy director is already thinking about a new post as Denmark coach.

Roman Abramovich has ordered huge savings to be made with Arnesen's £2million-a-year salary set to be one of the first to go.

The Dane appears to have accepted his fate and has admitted he was considering a career change.

He said: "To head the national football team of one's own country would be an honour.

"A serious offer from the Danish FA would make me consider my future."
