AIK's Johnson confident winning Birmingham contract

Dulee Johnson is hopeful of wrapping up a move to Birmingham after impressing on trial in the Midlands.

The Liberian is under contract to AIK in Sweden, but a move to England could be in the pipeline after he made a positive impression on Blues boss Alex McLeish.

Johnson has returned to Sweden following the conclusion of his trial, but he is awaiting the green light to head back to Birmingham.

"I'm impressed with what I saw at Birmingham. McLeish was happy with me," Johnson told his personal website. "I was so happy to hear him praising me."

The 23-year-old midfielder is hopeful Blues will thrash out a deal with AIK, as he added: "Everything is done. It's left with me to sign a deal with Birmingham based on whatever agreement they arrive at with AIK. But on my part everything is clear.

"I'm certain AIK will allow me to go if Birmingham comes for a deal. My visit was a success and I do not regret it."
