New York City FC veteran Andrea Pirlo is back on the Euros agenda for Antonio Conte.

A season-ending injury for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has hit Italy coach Conte's plans for France.

Conte was working on Marchisio being their key playmaker, but is now ready to recall Pirlo.

The veteran declared just last week he was still hopeful of making the final cut for Italy.

He is now emerging as Conte's priority to replace Marchisio.
