Conte demands passion, commitment from Juventus players

Antonio Conte is demanding passion and commitment from his new Juventus squad.

The departing Siena coach will replace Gigi Del Neri in Turin and he's made his expectations clear in an interview with Tuttosport.

"You have to honour the shirt, the fans and the club," said Conte.

"Therefore I want professionalism and attachment to these colours until the very last moment.

"I like to win, obviously, and I can't stand players who smile at the end of games which have been lost. This infuriates me.

"My players need to leave the pitch with their shirt dripping with sweat after giving their all. These are the requisites needed to do well. There is no compromise."

Taking charge of Juventus has been a clear objective for the ex-Bari boss given his time in Turin as a player.

"Not all ex-Juventus players get this call," he proudly stated. "You have to earn it, you need ideas and plans.

"I'll do everything in collaboration with President Andrea Agnelli, director Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici.

"Andrea Pirlo? He'll be one of the two central midfielders, but he will have to play for his place. The starting point will be that we have to keep possession of the ball."
