Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is convinced they paid for their scheduling in defeat to Manchester City.

Conte bemoaned a lack of time between matches, with the game coming three days after their 2-1 Champions League win at Atletico Madrid.

"Manchester City is a really big team," he said. "It's very difficult this type of game. Honestly I think that we gave everything today.

"When I play against Manchester City, usually they dominate the ball.

"In this type of game you need better time to recover very well, to run, to put pressure, because if you are tired you are not able to go box to box."
