Connor backs new Wolves boss Solbakken

Wolves interim manager Terry Connor will hand over to new boss Stale Solbakken confident the Norwegian is the right choice for a swift return to the Premier League. "I've not had chance to speak to him yet but I will meet him later. It has been a whirlwind couple of days," said Connor in the wake of a 3-2 defeat at Wigan yesterday.

"As of today I revert to being assistant manager and unless that changes I will be give my 100% backing to Stale and the club.

"You need to speak to the new manager to see what his plans are for taking us forward.

"He will have his ideas but from my point of view whatever Stale decides to do he will have 100% backing from myself.

"Everyone at the club will give him every support to make sure we regain our Premier League status as soon as possible.

"It is a different challenge but if you keep your best players and the nucleus of what we have and keep them focused I am sure the new manager will be somewhere near putting together a squad which is good enough to compete."
