Ex-QPR chairman Gianni Paladini says the consortium he is leading hopes to complete a deal to takeover ChampionshipBirmingham City in the near future. Paladini has lodged two bids for the club, however acting Blues chairman Peter Pannu said in a statement that there are "no active negotiations".

Pannu added: "I would urge that only official information should be relied upon and not rumours or speculation."
