Manchester United have announced the capture of Paul Pogba from Juventus.
The 23-year-old French midfielder has returned to United from the Italian champions for a reported fee of £89million (€105m), signing a five-year deal with the option of a sixth.
It is understood that United will pay the Bianconeri around £4.25m (€5m) in add-ons relating to team targets being hit.
The transfer fee surpasses the former world record set by Real Madrid when they purchased Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur for £85m in 2013.
Pogba, who left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2012, was over the moon after completing his much talked about move back to United.
"I am delighted to rejoin United," he told the club's official website.
"It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with José Mourinho.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends. But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford.
"I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can't wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game."
