Competition urges Leicester players ahead of new season – King

Leicester City midfielder Andy King believes the high level of competition will bring out the best of the squad during the upcoming season.

The Foxes are continuing their preparations for the 2015/16 Premier League campaign and King feels there is a strong level of pressure being placed on starting spots.

"I'm confident. It is just about playing your game, listening to what the manager wants and trying to put that on to the pitch," King told the club's official website.

"We have still got good competition for places out there. It is up to us to do enough in pre-season to get the nod." The 26-year-old academy graduate is pleased with how pre-season has panned out and believes that the team is ready for the opener against Sunderland at King Power Stadium on Saturday 8 August

He added: "We are doing it step by step, and I am sure by the first game of the season, we will be ready to go."
