Russell Martin is of the belief that a healthy competition for starting positions has the Scotland national team in a much improved position.
The Norwich City defender started in central defence in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Norway in Molde and he feels that there are plenty of players jockeying for all positions in Gordon Strachan's squad.
"It's good for the manager. He knows he has got players he can rely on in every position now, not just centre-half," he said.
"If you look at the squad, we have two players - at least two players - who can play in every position. So that means we are confident in the team we are putting out there and confident of getting a result."
