While Comolli praises Redknapp warmly for his work in the last two seasons, he also believes the 63-year-old was lucky to assume control at a club where many of the foundations were already in place.
He said: “I think he was fortunate to get into a club which is wealthy, organised and well run. There was a very good squad put together at the time and there were young players coming through.
“When we saw him play for the first time, we couldn't believe that nobody else had known about him. Then, Harry has done very well to make sure the players there gelled.
“He made them perform and developed the resilient attitude and the determination they now have.”
