Tottenham sports chief Damien Comolli blames agents for their problems in landing a final striker before the summer market shut.
"I am particularly disappointed that we were unable to make one additional signing, another experienced striker," he said.
"The deal was agreed but fell through in the final moments due to agent activity."
The player in question is believed to be Real Zaragoza's Sergio Garcia, who instead moved to Real Betis, leaving Tottenham light up front despite massive recruitment, in financial terms, in midfield.
