Celtic midfielder Kris Commons is looking forward to being involved in a European competition for the first time in his career.
The 27-year old former Nottingham Forest and Derby County man and his Hoops teammates need to navigate their way past Swiss club FC Sion to qualify for the group stage of Europe's second tier club competition but following that, Commons is eagerly anticipating competing in the Europa League.
"Every aspect of joining Celtic ticked every single box," he said.
"When you join a club like Celtic you are challenging for every cup and every league that you are involved in but Europe is a massive plus for me.
"Since joining I have looked forward to being involved in Europe and it is always nice to play against the bigger clubs in Europe and I'm striving to do that this year.
"I want to try to do well and make a name for myself there."
