Co-owner of Seattle Sounders and TV star Drew Carey has joined the USA's bid to host either the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.

Carey has a big passion for soccer, as evidenced by his backing of the Sounders, and is now throwing his celebrity status behind the nation's bid to host the world's biggest sporting event.

The US face stiff competition from Australia, England, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Holland-Belgium and Spain-Portugal for the 2018 tournament whilst Qatar and South Korea have joined in for the 2022 rights.

Whilst England and the Spain-Portugal dual bid lead the way for 2018, the USA have a great chance for the following World Cup.
