Comedian and TV star Drew Carey excited by Seattle Sounders support

Seattle Sounders part-owner Drew Carey is excited about the support surrounding the MLS franchise.

The comedian and TV star was buzzing after the recent pre-season clash with England giants Chelsea, saying the fans were creating a great tradition for the future but was realistic about where the club is at in a worldwide perspective.

"The march from Pioneer Square, that's going to be great 20, 30, 50 years from now," Carey said in Time magazine.

"Your kids are going to be like, 'Oh, we can't miss the march! We've got to go there!'

"We're not Chelsea or Arsenal.

"But you can see good quality play and have the experience of being at a good professional soccer game."

The Sounders have had a great response from the fans and merchandise sales have been rapid with more than $850,000 worth of shirts being sold before they even played a match.
