Salford City could convince several Manchester United legends out of retirement.
Former United teammates Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt have all taken a share in the non-league club.
Salford City chairman Karen Baird hopes they can be convinced to pull on the boots later this season.
"It would be nice if some of them did play," said Baird. "Maybe in some of the FA Cup rounds."
Salford are currently in the Northern Premier League first division north, tier eight of the English football pyramid.
"It is unlike any season we have had," said Baird. "It is absolutely crazy. There have been new players coming in, a new training regime, new kit - there is a real buzz about the club."
