Federico Higuain has joined Columbus Crew from Argentine club Atletico Colon.
The 27-year old striker, who is the older brother of Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain, has become the Crew's third Designated Player and will be available once he receives his International Transfer Certificate.
"On behalf of our club, we are extremely excited to bring another world-class player to Crew fans and to the Columbus market," Crew president and GM Mark McCullers said in a statement.
"Federico is a talented, technical and speedy attacking player who will add another dimension to our offense."
Higuain kicked off his career with River Plate in 2003 and has since had spells with Nueva Chicago, Besiktas, America, Independiente and Godoy Cruz before joining Colon in 2011.
