Columbus Crew's Oduro backing Ghana to do treble over USA

Dominic Oduro is of the belief that the Ghana national team will beat the USA at a third straight World Cup.

The Columbus Crew striker, who has played once for the Black Stars, feels his compatriots will account for the US at Brazil 2014 after they were drawn alongside each other in Group G which also consists of Germany and Portugal.

"We have beaten them twice already - 2006 and 2010 - in this competition and so I don't think nothing is going to stop us from doing it the third time," Oduro told Asempa FM.

"I also play in the MLS with majority of them, and when I compare player quality we are far ahead, just that they are hardworking, determined and never give up easily, but we also got the experience."

And Oduro, who enjoyed a successful debut season with the Crew, said he was hoping Ghana boss Akwasi Appiah would contemplate some of the many Ghanaians playing in North America for his World Cup squad.

"There are a lot of Ghanaians doing marvellously well in the MLS, and we will be happy if the coach casts his net wide (ahead of the World Cup)," he added.
