Columbus Crew defender Chad Marshall has been named the MLS Player of the Month for August.

The 25-year old US international played every minute of the Crew's four league games, anchored the squad for three shutouts, scored two game-winning goals, and had one assist.

The player of the month is selected by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR). The group consists of members of online, print, television and radio media.
