Colorado trades Colaluca for Valentino with New England

Rob Valentino has joined the Colorado Rapids in a trade deal with New England Revolution.

The deal sees Nico Colaluca make the move to New England.

Valentino joins the Rapids after being drafted by the Revolution in the first round (13th overall) in the 2008 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

Last season, he started in nine Reserve Division matches, as well as earning starts in all three of New England's U.S. Open Cup matches and a substitute appearance against Joe Public FC in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Originally selected by the Rapids in the first round (sixth overall) in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, Colaluca appeared in four games for Colorado all during his rookie campaign.

He also played in 18 Reserve Division matches for the Rapids during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, recording five goals and was a member of the Colorado's 2007 MLS Reserve Division championship team.
