Colorado Rapids have been dealt a major blow with defender/midfielder Anthony Wallace sustaining a serious Achilles injury.

The 23-year old is set to be sidelined for in between six and nine months after tearing the tendon at training and will go for surgery later this week.

Wallace, who has managed just 17 league appearances since joining from FC Dallas in 2010, was only getting back to full fitness following knee surgery before the new injury.
