The Colorado Rapids convincingly won a preseason match against The LA Galaxy claiming a 5-2 victory. "This was another very positive game for us," explained head coach Gary Smith. "Any time you can find the back of the net multiple times is good. Ultimately it is another step in the right direction."
Colorado were three goals to the good after only 35 minutes, Mehdi Ballouchy scored in the 21st minute. Omar Cummings put the Rapids up 2-0 in the 32nd minute and Conor Casey scored in the 35th minute. Just before half time Omar Gonzalez pulled one back for Los Angeles.
Dema Kovalenko made it 3-2 in the 81st minute to pull the Galaxy back into the game. However, Colorado quickly responded in the 82nd minute when Terry Cooke scored Colorado's fourth. Four Minutes later Colorado finished the rout with Cummings scoring his second goal and Colorado's fifth.
Colorado return to their home facilities to resume preseason preparations for the season.
