Colorado Rapids retain Wallace, giving Portland Timbers allocation money

Colorado Rapids were able to retain the services of promising midfielder Anthony Wallace in exchange for allocation money to expansion franchise Portland Timbers.

The 21-year old was selected from Colorado by the Timbers as the seventh overall pick in the 2010 Expansion Draft but the Rapids traded with Portland to have him back.

Wallace joined the Rapids from FC Dallas midway through the 2010 season and played in seven regular-season matches.
