Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Chris Sharpe says Hull City striker Caleb Folan has impressed in preseason trials.

Rapids coach Gary Smith is in talks with Folan about a move to MLS after successful tests.

Sharpe revealed he actually is a former teammate of Folan's and told tribalfootball.com: "Caleb looked good.

"He is a big lad, strong and holds the ball up well. He would be a great fit for us this coming season. He has great experience in England and that can only benefit us this year with so many games.

"Was funny as I played with Caleb at Chesterfield and had not seen him since 2005, so it was good to see him again."
