Colorado Rapids midfielder Jeff Larentowicz is chasing a deal at Bolton Wanderers.
The American midfielder spent six weeks at Malmo FF in Sweden in 2004 before trying his luck with Ipswich Town in the Championship.
Following the success of Stuart Holden, manager Owen Coyle was eager to take a look at the 28-year-old after a recommendation from US coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
"The opportunity is one that I couldn't pass up," Larentowicz, who scored eight times for MLS side Colorado Rapids last season, told the Bolton News.
"First of all, to be considered is great, but to be given such an opportunity at a Premiership club is one that doesn't come around often.
"Since I've been here it's been everything I had imagined: fast paced, high intensity, fun, while everyone at Bolton has made me feel very welcome."
