Colorado Rapids loan Cascio to Houston Dynamo in MLS first

Houston Dynamo have made history by conducting the first loan deal between two Major League Soccer clubs.

The Texan outfit have taken midfielder Tony Cascio on a season-long loan from Colorado Rapids in the first exchange of its kind in MLS history.

"I watched him in college and his first two years with Colorado and I enjoy the way he approaches the game," Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear said in a statement.

"He is not afraid to take on players and he has good versatility. I think when he has the ball at his feet he is not afraid to try and be productive, whether it be an assist or a goal. With what we have coming up this year, we think he is going to be a great addition to the team."

23-year old Cascio originally joined the Rapids via the 2012 MLS SuperDraft and has appeared in 42 matches for the Denver outfit.

Intra-league loans were made possible in 2013 but no club utilised the facility to bring players in temporarily without a transfer taking place making Cascio the first.
