Colorado Rapids hit by Picken's broken arm

Colorado Rapids have been hit with a major early-season blow with goalkeeper Matt Picken suffering a broken left forearm.

The 30-year old sustained the injury in a clash with Real Salt Lake's Kwame Watson- Siriboe in the fourth minute of the eventual 1-1 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium which added to Colorado boss Oscar Pareja's medical room woes which already includes Jaime Castrillon (knee), Martin Rivero (broken foot) and captain Pablo Mastroeni (hamstring).

"At the end of the day, it's just unfortunate for him and the club and the team not to have him," a philosophical Pareja said. "But it happens.

"That's the game. It's just the game."
