Colorado Rapids finally get on training pitch

Some teams have different experiences when getting ready for the season and for the Colorado Rapids weather is a major factor. Reporting on the club's official blog, Undercurrent, Gary Smith's squad was finally able to train on the club's official training pitch for the first time this year.

The official training pitch, which is an exact replica of the field inside the stadium, is finally back to form and the grass is ready to take the wear and tear of a Rapids training session.

The squad had previously been training on the artificial turf fields at the complex, with a session on one of the other grass fields every once in a while depending on how far along its progress was.

With less than two weeks to go before the season opens Colorado fans will be happy to hear that their team is now training on grass.
