Colorado Rapids are believed to be close to signing Ecuadorian defender Diego Calderon.
The 26-year old is set to join from homeland club LDU Quito with Rapids president Tim Hinchey indicating on Twitter that there will be a new defensive signing this week.
"Excited to welcome a Rapids player this week. Will be a key addition to our back four. @ColoradoRapids #COYRapids #OneClub#paperwork!" he posted.
Calderon has been capped five times by Ecuador and will certainly strengthen the Rapids backline provided the deal goes through.
