Club América, based in Mexico City, is one of the most successful teams world-wide, having captured 10 Primera División championships. Club América also has more international titles that are recognized by FIFA than any other team from the CONCACAF region.

This will be the 7th international match the Rapids have brought to Dick's Sporting Goods Park since its opening in April of 2007.
