Colorado Rapids head coach Gary Smith is extremely pleased with his team's 3-2 away victory over New York especially under difficult circumstances.
Speaking at the post match press conference, Smith said, "Of course, I am very pleased. We had a tough journey yesterday.
"A big delay and you often wonder if these trips; the length of the journey, the time difference and the differences in the surface can sometimes affect the players badly. I think we did a terrific job the past couple of weeks, playing at New England and playing here, on turf of getting to grips with the pitch fairly quickly."
Smith also wanted to single out Conor Casey's performance.
"He's been absolutely terrific," he added.
"He's been carrying a sore foot and he's had a difficult year after a broken bone in the summer in his foot. To a degree, we've been nursing him through the week, but when he counts like that, I'd play him in a concrete boot just to get him out there.
"He's in one of those veins of form right now and I don't want to put the markers on him, but he looks very sharp in front of the goal. He's obviously ultra-confident and we hope he continues."
