Cologne FC defender Kevin Wimmer is excited about his move to Tottenham.

After months of negotiations, the Austrian is joining Spurs this week for around £4.5 million.

"I'm leaving for Tottenham, the next step in my career," Wimmer acknowledged, talking to BILD.

"It does not matter to me that they're playing in next season's Europa League."

Cologne announced last night: "Wimmer will be sold, but for contractual reasons, we cannot say where he is going. The other club does not want themselves to be name."
