Fabricio Coloccini wants to leave Newcastle United.

The Sun says troubled Toon have been thrown into fresh turmoil after Coloccini told them he wants to leave due to personal reasons.

The club refused to shed any light on the circumstances of the 30-year-old's massive change of heart.

But it comes less than 12 months after the Argentina international pledged himself to St James' Park with a lucrative £60,000-a-week contract extension to cement his status as the Geordies' highest-paid player.
