Collymore slams Chelsea captain Terry farewell: Biggest load of self-indulgent b*******

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has slammed John Terry's contrived Chelsea substitution for his farewell against Sunderland.

Collymore wrote for the Mirror: "A lot of Chelsea fans will say John Terry's send-off was a fitting tribute to their 'Captain, leader, legend'.

"But when I heard it was self-orchestrated I just thought, 'This is the biggest load of self-indulgent b******* I've ever heard of'.

"Terry has won everything there is to win at club level and could have just gone off after 88 or 89 minutes, or come on after 80 minutes if Antonio Conte didn't fancy playing him throughout, and taken the acclaim with a little wave.

"After all, this wasn't a friendly or testimonial but a full-on league fixture and, while technically there was nothing to play for, it still had the potential to open up a spot-betting can of worms."
