Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore fears Christian Benteke will push to leave Villa Park.

Collymore wrote in the People: "My Villa friends lead me to believe he loves playing for them, and that he would like to grow with the team next season.

"But this is the time of year when players have time to think. And that can be dangerous.

"After nine months of intense action, they are isolated and not surrounded by club officials. They head away and begin to speak freely to a local journo, wondering what the future may hold."
