Collison hopes Big Sam's new two-year deal will signal yet more progress for the Hammers in the coming months and years.
He told whufc.com: "He has done brilliantly. You look at how hard it is for the teams going down to come up at the first time of asking and of course he did just that last season. This season we're stable in the Premier League and it's definitely a good thing for the club. He's a good manager and with the stability, hopefully he can look to build something special here now."
