Collins linked with Sanchez's Fulham job

John Collins is being linked with Lawrie Sanchez's job at Fulham after he resigned as Hibs manager this week.

Collins walked out of the Scottish Premier League club yesterday, blaming the lack of transfer funds available, despite the club making a profit of more than £8million on player trading since his appointment on October 31 last year.

The Daily Mail says while Collins is understood to be in the frame for the vacant Scotland manager's job, replacing Sanchez at Craven Cottage - should the Fulham board lose patience with the former Northern Ireland coach - would represent an attractive option.

Fulham are in the bottom three of the Barclays Premier League with just two wins all season. Sanchez is understood to have until the New Year to turn matters round.

Collins was a popular figure at Fulham, helping them to promotion to the top flight in 2001 before hanging up his boots after three seasons at Craven Cottage.

Collins said: "My reasons for resigning are that I feel I have taken the club under the current resources as far as I can."
