Collins insists no Fulham contact

John Collins insists he has not spoken to Fulham following the sacking of manager Lawrie Sanchez.

The former Scotland international resigned as Hibernian boss just 24 hours before Sanchez was dismissed at Craven Cottage.

It prompted immediate speculation that Collins, who spent three years at Fulham at the end of his playing career, would take over in West London.

But the 39-year-old is adamant that he has not held any talks with a view to succeeding Sanchez at the Premier League strugglers.

"I can categorically state that I have not spoken with Fulham," Collins told The Times.

"It is just an unbelievable coincidence that I have left my job at the same time that Lawrie has left Fulham.

"But that is all it is. The reports are all wrong."
