Coleraine will demand a transfer fee from Newcastle Jets if they're to sign winger Stephen Carson. Coleraine have denied reaching an agreement with the A-League club and say they would be entitled to compensation if Carson moved.
It is believed 28-year-old Carson was approached by Newcastle after making his international debut against Italy.
"We do not want to lose Stephen because he is one of our best players," said Coleraine chairman Hugh Wade.
"We let him go on trial. If he wants to better himself, we would not stand in his way.
"But Coleraine would need to be compensated."
