Ashley Cole is waiting to open new contract talks with Chelsea.

The Daily Express says sources close to Cole insist contract talks have still not begun. He is in the last year of his deal, and is adamant he will not sign the one-year deal being offered at Stamford Bridge.

Cole, 31, will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January and then leave for nothing in the summer.
