Carlton Cole is set to sign a short-term contract with West Ham United according to the Daily Mail.
The 29-year old striker has been searching for a club since he was released by the Hammers in May but it appears as though he has answered a SOS from manager Sam Allardyce.
West Ham are in desperate need of a striker and have agreed a three-month deal with Cole who was close to joining QPR recently.
The contract is expected to be signed in the next 24 hours.
