Ashley Cole must accept a pay-cut if he's to stay with Chelsea.

The Daily Star says the England left-back has been offered around £100,000 a week to sign a one-year extension.

That is a drop from the £6m a year he is currently on, with owner Roman Abramovich seemingly intent on lowering the average age of the Blues squad.

Cole wants longer than a year and is believed to be unimpressed by the package presented to him.
