Joe Cole admits he was knackered after helping West Ham United to an opening day victory over Cardiff City.
Cole was speaking to Ian Wright on Absolute Radio's Rock N Roll Football after his goalscoring performance.
"I'm tired, very tired - was a tough game but was a well fought victory and I'm delighted to get the win and the goal as well.
"We've had busy but good pre-season. Nineteen games in total, it's been a long one. We've been all over in Germany, Portugal, Ireland and with all of that preparation it's important to have a good start and we did that today.
"It's the first time I've completed a pre-season in a very long time so I'm over the moon. I'm not old, but you know as you get older it's important to train to the maximum in every session."
