Andy Cole made his Sunderland debut last night in the reserve-team's 2-1 win at Everton.

The 35 year-old striker, who joined Sunderland last week on a free from Portsmouth, had 66 minutes under the eye of coach Kevin Richardson.

Another new signing, fullback Ian Harte, also had the same amount of time on the pitch as the veteran pair work towards match-fitness.
