Cole told the Sunday Mirror: "There's been a lot of adversity and we've shown a lot of character to come through it. To come from where we are now to win the league would be our biggest achievement yet.

"It was a difficult start but we've turned the corner. Things are starting to run smoothly again. We've gone 10 games without defeat.

"But Chelsea at the moment are a work in progress. You don't build championship-winning teams overnight.

"We feel we've always played good football. People who say we're boring have only watched us four or five times a year. Chelsea fans know. They've seen us play all year round and they are more than happy."
