Sunderland striker Andy Cole faces a race to be fit for next Saturday's home game with Reading.

Cole, 35, who arrived on a free last month, suffered a calf strain in a 2-1 win for the reserves at Everton on Tuesday.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane said: "I'm hoping Coley and a few of the others who have niggling injuries will be back and in contention for Reading."
